Shannon Beddoe

Partner

Shannon is a partner at McCarthy Hansen & Company LLP, where she practises in all areas of family law. She has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, including the Ontario Securities Commission and the Ontario Court of Appeal.

Shannon was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2011. Prior to joining McCarthy Hansen & Company in 2014, she practised complex commercial litigation at a premier litigation boutique in Toronto.

Shannon holds a J.D. from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law and a B.A. in History and Philosophy (Great Distinction) from McGill University. She also holds a Diploma in International and European Law from the Université Jean Moulin in Lyon, France. During law school, Shannon represented the University of Toronto at the Arnup Cup trial advocacy competition. After graduating, she clerked for the Honourable Justice Phelan at the Federal Court in Ottawa.

Shannon serves as an Adjunct Mooting Advisor at the University of Toronto, assisting with the Walsh Family Law Moot. She speaks at various family law continuing education programs.
Shannon sits on the Board of Directors of the Georgian Bay Land Trust, and of the McGill Women, Leadership and Philanthropy Initiative. She is a member of The Advocates’ Society and a past member of the Young Advocates’ Standing Committee.
