During law school, Liz was a caseworker at Community Legal Services, the student legal aid clinic at the University of Western Ontario. As a caseworker, she assisted in providing low-income clients with legal services and appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in relation to a child protection matter. Liz was a Research Assistant for Professor Claire Houston for a leading family law research project on spousal support.

Outside of family law, Liz co-founded Western Law’s first student-run online newspaper, Ipso Facto. She was also a Staff Editor for the Western Journal of Legal Studies.

Liz is a member of the Filipino Canadian Lawyers’ Network.
