Gerald Sadvari has over 44 years of experience as family law counsel in all courts in Ontario, and has provided expert testimony in numerous cases in the Superior Court of Ontario.
Since June 2013 Gerry has restricted his practice to ADR. He is a Certified Family Law Arbitrator and has conducted an alternative dispute resolution practice since 1990.
Gerry was Chair of the OBA Family Law Section (1993-5), a member of The International Academy Family Law Lawyers (1994-2017) and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (2008-17).
Gerry has published over 150 articles in the area of Family Law in various publications, including articles for The Law Society of Upper Canada and the Canadian Bar Association’s Family Law Program on topics of support, advocacy, marriage contracts, valuation of property and trusts. He is the co-author of 2002 “The Separation Agreement, Annotated” which is the standard form of the separation agreement in the Province.
Gerry received his BA from the University of Toronto and his LLB from Queen’s University. Gerry was called to the Ontario Bar in 1978.
